Parks-Work have completed the Natural Disaster Response Manual for the Dutch Caribbean islands of Saba, St. Eustatius and St. Maarten after they were struck by hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. The manual is based on the experiences of park management organizations Sint Maarten Nature Foundation (NFSXM), Saba Conservation Foundation(SCF) and STENAPA St. Eustatius. The manual is a blue print and can be adapted to local situations to provide the tools necessary to effectively respond to natural disasters through preparation, response and restoration. The funding for the manual was provided by the DCNA Trust Fund as a response to the effects of the 2017 hurricane season.
