Kalli is an experienced conservation professional with a demonstrated history of establishing, managing and assisting terrestrial and marine protected areas and regional networks of protected areas in the tropics.

Whilst the focus of her work has been in the Caribbean, she has worked with parks and protected areas as far afield as Fiji and Indonesia. Kalli has a special interest in the use of management scans, management effectiveness and management planning tools in real world settings to improve site conservation management as well as in the development of practical tools to support nature conservation managers and staff.

She holds a BSc in Marine Biology and Ecology from the London City University and MSc in Oceanography from Southampton Solent University, UK. Kalli set up the Bonaire National Marine Park which she managed for over a decade, worked for three years as the Conservation Director for The Coral Reef Alliance before setting up the Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance, a regional network of protected areas spanning the Caribbean islands of Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Saba, St Eustatius and St Maarteen. In 2018 Kalli set up Nature 2 to provide consulting services, training and management support to protected areas.

Duncan has a Masters degree in Tropical Coastal Management and a BSc in Geography and nearly 20 years experience in coastal and protected area management around the globe including the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Australia, Netherlands Antilles, Madagascar, Portugal. Duncan is also a Fellow of The Royal Geographical Society and a member of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas. His work has included research, practical management and policy development in Madagascar, Southern Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Middle East relating to protected areas and sustainable development.

Duncan managed the Bonaire National Marine Park in 2001/2002, focusing on Environmental Impact Assessment, wastewater management and research into the effects of diving tourism on coastal ecology. From 2005 to 2018 Duncan has worked intensively with the Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance (DCNA) to develop and implement the management success project, capturing the management effectiveness of the ten protected areas within the Dutch Caribbean. In conjunction with this he has written Management Plans for a number of the protected areas of the Dutch Caribbean.

Having worked in education and as a diving instructor in the late 90’s, Duncan established Coastal Zone Management in 2001 to channel his work in protected area management, policy development, communication, monitoring, training, education and nature based solutions to climate change. Formalising Parks-Work was the next natural step to making a difference.
