Project Description

The St Eustatius National Marine Park is managed by STENAPA a non-governmental, not for profit foundation. The Marine Park is recognized as a National Park and has received SPAW recognition. Park staff include a full time Manager, shared education and research officer, shared admin staff and three rangers.

Parks Work was brought in to write a management plan for the park with an emphasis on developing a practical tool for staff. We established a local project team, conducted a thorough literature review and used this information to populate a draft Management Plan. Together with the local project team we drafted conservation strategies and enabling strategies, short and long-term objectives and actions as well as a comprehensive plan for stakeholder involvement in the discussion and review of the plan. This project is on hold due to the Covid 19 situation.
